Becoming a Codinator

When the new curriculum came along with the word "coding" mentioned, there were some worried looks and thoughts - I'm sure! - Because I was one of them!

2 PDs later (1 in house and 1 @Kingswoodprimary) I feel that I could definitely be turning into a codinator!

Two things to help you on your way:

They are a free service that allows you to borrow Coding Kits (Spheros, Beebots, Ozobots, MakeyMakey, Lilypad and LittleBits Kits).

2. Code the future @codefuture.org

They are a linking service that is also free that lets educators like me put up projects asking for help. Then computer programmers and other experts get linked up with your project if they think they can help. Educators can have these professionals physically come into the classroom, skype or try other ways to help with the project.

Currently my project that I am seeking help for is: BeeBots in the classroom. My students are going to be using the idea of robots and coding to design their own.

Click the BeeBot to go to my project. This may help you to come up with your own idea for your classroom and also how to write a project request.
